would eternity echo our screams,
of our past that had gone,
our present that turned out wrong
and our future that had no hope.

Would the wailling be heard of a thousand banshees
if death would come to us in our dreams?
Straight to hell, straight to heaven,
there is no path inbetween
but still in darkness we redeem.

Do we choose our paths,
or do our paths choose us,
a secret hidden,
a letter lost,
non-revealing at any cost,
freedom in our insanity,
trapped in our sanity,
lost without dignity
but still on and on we dream. [comments] => 4 [counter] => 184 [topic] => 61 [informant] => Kellros [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 9 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => selfstruggles )

Your not bipolar by chance. LOL You seem to think a lot like I do. I found your piece tangled but quite interesting. The first stanza really intrigued me the most...these lines captured me,"if we would pass on in our dreams, would eternity echo our screams" I loved that. Very good write. Peace to you. Laura

Bravo!

I happened upon this around 4:00a.m. --- after having awoken and finding myself unable to fall back asleep. And I sit here now... pondering very similar thoughts.

I'm a dreamer by nature... future focussed... but, yes... all of us, I suppose, pause and look back every now and then, consider the present often and hope we're heading in the right direction. Hope... keeps us moving forward. To my way of thinking, living without hope is akin to not living.

I enjoyed this... and can relate. I'd argue only that second to last line... for I think nothing is "lost" if yet you dream.

Well done!

Just the phrase.." a letter lost" got me thinking and my mind went in all directions.. sometimes I feel like a letter lost or at the very least a letter that comes back marked "postage due."
