Array ( [sid] => 10246 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => life is a bus [time] => 2003-01-12 14:00:00 [hometext] => Likening life and tribulations in love to a bus ride. Also my first posted poem. [bodytext] => i'm on a bus.
to nowhere
in particular.
just me
and 300 girls.
every one
loves me more than the last.

and i sit on this bus
reading my newspaper
blind to their desires.

one comes closer.
"hi." she says,
nervously.
"the Leafs lost again." i declare.
and she goes back to her seat.
and i sit there, feeling indifferent.

the saddest part?

this bus ride won't end
until each one does the same.
but it's just a bus ride
isn't it? [comments] => 9 [counter] => 179 [topic] => 21 [informant] => CharCoal69 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 11 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Lifepoems )

300 girls, huh? Sounds more like the life of a travelling porn star. I found this poem to be both arrogant and dominated by overly male-chauvinist attitudes. Thanks.

The 300 girls was a representation of all the girls I'll meet in my lifetime.

If you didn't interpret the poem the way it was intended to be read, that's fine.

You also basically said that you didn't/wouldn't care about a single one of them, and, given the chance, would ignore each and every one. Seems a bit impolite at the very least.

It's not me ignoring them, it's me being too stupid to realize that they're interested. Like I'm missing out on 300 chances to be with them, do you know what I mean?

My apologies. I seem to have missed the boat on this one. What threw me off was your mention of feeling "indifferent", as if you didn't really care about your situation, and also that it seemed you were saying you knew up front that each loved you more than the last. I didn't realize you were only mentioning it as a fact of the matter that you were oblivious to. Again, I am sorry.

Don't worry about it. Poetry is all about interpretations..

I thought this poem was good. IF there were only 20 girls on the bus it must of felt like 300!!!yap,yap yap!!
