Dear God why must this be my fate
I stood forever tall
Until life readied me for the fall
I loved and lost, but at much cost
Need not guess
I lost the bet and now remorse in my regret

My life was once new
But as I grew
I no longer knew
The man in the mirror I see
Why must this be
My hate has caught up with thee
With karma, this is how it should be

My lack of discourse is now my remorse
Words I cared not to verse constantly haunt me in rehearse
Once I was strong, but my ideas were wrong
Beliefs I once held true now make me blue

I gave away all I have loved it seems
Chasing fictitious sugar plums in my dreams
I squandered my life and filled it with strife
I`m so sorry I conned her into my life
She wore her heart on her sleeve
In the end, I too made her grieve.
Only in defeat did greatness fall at my feet

Silently I cried
No need to wonder why [comments] => 1 [counter] => 112 [topic] => 73 [informant] => jamesstockdale [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => abstract ) Your Poetry Dot Com - Silently I Cried

Silently I cried
No need to wonder why
