Things that perfect romances are made of
The touch of a hand, a glimpse into the eyes
Embellishments of the finest quality

Yet they deteriorate in the absence of love
Sole desire for another that shines eternal
The admiration, adoration of a soul’s mere existence
The foundation required for a weatherproof haven

Thus I’m forced to break this contract
One fortunately signed in erasable ink
One-sided endearment is less than you deserve
Indeed my heart’s exertion failed to produce
The necessary affection

So I bid you the warmest farewell I can conjure
Sorrowful that it’s your own heart I’ve injured
Still you assure me of your strength
And relief that we’ve prevented
A most destructive collapse
Of a shaky house built on quicksand [comments] => 3 [counter] => 79 [topic] => 22 [informant] => Deidra_Carmichael [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LostLove ) Your Poetry Dot Com - The Warmest Farewell

The strongest embrace, the sweetest kiss
Things that perfect romances are made of
The touch of a hand, a glimpse into the eyes
Embellishments of the finest quality

Yet they deteriorate in the absence of love
Sole desire for another that shines eternal
The admiration, adoration of a soul’s mere existence
The foundation required for a weatherproof haven

Thus I’m forced to break this contract
One fortunately signed in erasable ink
One-sided endearment is less than you deserve
Indeed my heart’s exertion failed to produce
The necessary affection

So I bid you the warmest farewell I can conjure
Sorrowful that it’s your own heart I’ve injured
Still you assure me of your strength
And relief that we’ve prevented
A most destructive collapse
Of a shaky house built on quicksand
