[hometext] => Conflict; the universal lubricant (take deep breath and don/'/t take a break)
[bodytext] => Forests wrestle
on a very slow trestle,
victory moot
in this battle made smooth
on the Oil of Conflict;
lubricant breathed,
swam in by all from amoeba to zebra,
life at command
to a force immutably placed,
conflict itself,
sheared and shorn,
(consumed and reborn)
expels from a well never dry, drawn upon deep without cease
on forest and man as on all
which in any form breathe.
Cogs of ill fit mesh in this clock,
ticking at speeds timed to us
we/'/re allowed to discern;
to fast for the forest,
hands swish as they turn on a face
we can track;
children,
all, time at a crawl
as we stumble /'/tween options;
retreat or attack.
The Oil of Conflict
smooths any clock,
heedless to speed,
winding down not allowed,
elemental in need;
never a cease to the tick or the tock.
