His works and deeds egregiously prodigious,
He mortifies the flesh, - fasts thrice a week,
On Fridays he eats carrots mixed with leek.

He sleeps upon a pricky heap of hay,
To keep immodest fantasies at bay,
He tithes, anise, dill cumin and mint,
Thus is secure he hardly ever sinned.

----

He met the Lord once in the parking lot,
And cried: "I have my prayer book forgot!"
The Lord replied: "the heart thou hast forgot"
Be off, you lout, get lost, I KNOW THEE NOT !.
