The Tennessee River named the “Whirl And Suck.”
It will pull you under if you run out of luck.
Its raging waters will take you down stream.
But don't try it upstream for it's very mean.
Roll on river, roll fast as you can.
It flows to the Ohio, it's strong and it's grand.
But if you're just sight seeing, you'd better buckle in.
Roll on river, you'll remember where you've been.
The boat starts flopping when you hit its whirls and sucks.
You'll wonder why you didn't drive your old pickup truck.
When you come to rapids you will slam against its walls.
I know you will be praying just before you hit the falls.
Roll on river, there's power in your punch.
Many men have died for testing you too much.
If you go out rafting have your will signed and stamped.
Roll on Tennessee River, for me you're way too damp.
