Sullen void and blazing sun

Just like a canvas covered

All in black
Someone finds behind a crack
Treasure painted some years back

Enjoyed not in its time but

Cherished now
Beauty missed we don't know how
Nostalgia alone can endow

A feeling that our lives will

Never know
Only time can truly show
Left our marks atop the snow

For others to look down on

Who can tell
Beauty from these marks does swell
Someone down the road will yell

This life knew beauty I will never know
