What stands in front of you?
I block your view
Yet you never noticed me

You left the field
When you were unable to see

To fear the field of dreams

I begged you not to
But you drifted away
You forgot all about me
Your one and only

In our field I tried
I tried so many times
I tried so hard
So hard in rhymes

I spoke your name
You never heard me
I look into your eyes
You look through me

I reach for you
You leave in distraction
I’m holding your hand
You don’t even feel me

You cry and I wonder
Now I know why
I left you first
You loved me last

Standing in the rain,
In the field of dreams.
Do you not know me?
You can, but won’t see

What stands in front of you?
I block your view
Yet you never noticed me
And I cared for you?!

You left the field
When you were unable to see
You grew to fear me
To fear the field of dreams
