I look down in shame
throw the flowers on your name
and then turn and walk away
you hurt me
and now are dead inside of me
you killed the flowers that were budding within me
burned them to a crisp
they now have no life left (to live)
so, now I walk alone I walk alone
through the desert of thorns
I trench through them alone
through the forest of trees
I walk through them blindly
alone, alone
and now, the pain that is inflicted upon me
makes me stronger and for you to have no need
taking courage, I knock my own trees down
taking courage the injected thorns I take out on my own
not looking back at your grave, you are dead
not looking back and feeling your shame, you are dead
not looking back on your name, you are dead
far, far I walk away for you are dead
I am tough I am proud
and alone I walk out
I walk alone I walk alone
taking the flowers you once gave me
that once had beauty
and crumple them to shreds they are now ugly
spreading them around like ashes
in the wide open desert
saying good bye to you, my abuser
in my heels, and my dress
through this desert alone, I trench
with dirt on my face, I’ve never been more beautiful
standing in this place I never been more proud and tall
alone, I walk alone, I walk alone

Standing at your grave
I look down in shame
throw the flowers on your name
and then turn and walk away
you hurt me
and now are dead inside of me
you killed the flowers that were budding within me
burned them to a crisp
they now have no life left (to live)
so, now I walk alone I walk alone
through the desert of thorns
I trench through them alone
through the forest of trees
I walk through them blindly
alone, alone
and now, the pain that is inflicted upon me
makes me stronger and for you to have no need
taking courage, I knock my own trees down
taking courage the injected thorns I take out on my own
not looking back at your grave, you are dead
not looking back and feeling your shame, you are dead
not looking back on your name, you are dead
far, far I walk away for you are dead
I am tough I am proud
and alone I walk out
I walk alone I walk alone
taking the flowers you once gave me
that once had beauty
and crumple them to shreds they are now ugly
spreading them around like ashes
in the wide open desert
saying good bye to you, my abuser
in my heels, and my dress
through this desert alone, I trench
with dirt on my face, I’ve never been more beautiful
standing in this place I never been more proud and tall
